Genre Research: Powerpoint

In the PowerPoint, I talked about all aspects of the crime genre and movies. I talked about lighting and how crime movies usually use black and white lighting or lowkey lighting, which creates a chiaroscuro effect. I said that panning shots are used to go from one scene to another. Usual props used are obviously weapons such as guns and knives to increase the tension in the scene. Crime movies often have elements of harm to others which increases scene tension and suspense. I mentioned some examples such as The Godfather and Scarface. Sounds used are non-diegetic to build suspense. Also, the music tends to start off slow but slowly builds up throughout the movie. The elements that I favor are the suspense and action because it keeps me interested and at the edge of my seat. The element that is unfavored is the mystery because it keeps the plot slow and slightly boring. That is the crime genre summed up. Thanks, guys see ya later.
